Creative blog hop

Hello and welcome,

Today I am honoured to be part of the Creative Blog Hop. I was asked by Susan Luke of Susan's Saga if I would participate, so thanks Susan. We met through Stampin' Up! and we enjoy attending each others classes where Susan always has great projects for us to make.

As part of this Creative blog hop I have been asked the following 4 questions.

1. What am I working on now?

I am constantly designing cards for the blog and classes, as well as scrapbooking as I have monthly card classes and weekly scrapbooking classes. I also make gift cards so always have something I am working on. I am also working on Christmas cards and decorations and planning on some full day Christmas workshops.

2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?

I'm not sure how my work differs from others, but I usually like to make cards that are "pretty" and not overdone. I love to use embossing powders, embossing folders and adding dimension to the cards. The same with scrapbooking, I like to highlight the photos rather than putting great emphasis on too many embellishments.

3. Why do I create what I do?

I enjoy the challenge of creating something that others appreciate because it is handmade and unique. I am often told that the recipients of my cards don't throw away my cards as they really appreciate the work that has gone into them and they look forward to receiving them.

4. How does my creative process work?

This varies from one card to another. Sometimes I have an idea because of something I have seen whether it be a card or something else that has given me inspiration. Sometimes I decide to use a particular stamp or designer paper and go from there. The end result may be exactly as I imagined from the beginning or a totally different design.

Now I would like to introduce you to 2 other talented ladies so please visit their blogs.

Firstly is Angie Jones from Angies Craft Fusion- another passionate Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since June 2010 - wow, over 4 years now......time sure flies when you love what you do.
I just love sitting in my craft room and creating, it is my way of de-stressing from what the day may have sent my way!
I am married to a very generous man who allows me to get lost in my crafting and will start dinner or hang out the clothes as I just have to finish this little bit! We have two teenagers, one son and one daughter, so we get to experience all that puberty has to offer. The youngest member of our family is our Adopted ex-racing greyhound who I am sure has his own puberty issues and fits into our family as though he has always been here!

***********************************
My second blogger is Nicole Cosgrove - a very busy mother of three who loves card making, scrapbooking, kids craft and cooking. She is also my youngest daughter.
Her blog is Little Pieces of Mee.

Hi, I'm Nicole Cosgrove. I've been doing crafty things since I was a kid, and I love card making and scrapbooking as well as kids craft and baking. I'm a mum to three young kids who keep me very busy, as well as working part time. I don't get to do as much crafting for myself as I would like to, but instead I spend a bit of time each week being crafty with my kids - my eldest daughter has the creative genes too and loves craft too. My blog covers the things that I enjoy doing so its more than just papercraft. I share my love of papercraft with my mum, Lesley Jendra, who is a Stampin' Up!demonstrator.

Thanks again Angie and Nicole for being part of this Creative blog hop.

Now, my card for today.
As you know I had an operation on my hand last week. I thought it would only be a couple of days (wishful thinking) that I would be out of action but still can't do much with it. However, I always have a box of leftover embellishments so this is what I have used on today's card to make it easier. I had the 2 flowers and leaves so it was easy to find the DSP to match and went from there.

I embossed the Whisper White card (#106549) with the Decorative Dots folder (#133520). Happy Birthday from Sassy Salutations (#c126707, #w132070) was stamped with Garden Green ink (#126973). The Framelits used are the Starburst (#132967) and Circle Collection (#130911), using Calypso Coral card (#124392), Pistachio Pudding (#131299) and Gold Soirée DSP (#133697). The flowers are from the Flower Shop stamp set (#c130942, #w130939) and Petite Petals (#c133155, #w133152). These were heat embossed with Versamark (#102283) and Gold embossing powder (#109129). The punches for the flowers are Pansy (#130698) and Petite Petals (#133322). A Rhinestone Basic Jewel (#119246) was used for the centre. The flowers were assembled using Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430). The leaves were punched with the Bird Builder punch using Garden Green card (#108605). These were glued with the 2-way glue pen (#100425).
As I said earlier, I like to use embossing folders, embossing powders and dimension and I have just realised I have used all these on this card.

Don't forget to check out Angie and Nicole's blogs and continue on this Creative blog hop each Monday.

Thanks again for visiting and hope you have a great day.

Till next time,
Happy Stamping,
Lesley.

Flowers and butterfly

Hi Stampers,

I have used my favourite stamps on today's card - 3 different flowers and a butterfly and of course the coordinating punches.

I embossed the Whisper White card (#106549) with the Honeycomb folder (#129378). The flowers are from the Beautiful Bunch (#c134282, #w134279), Flower Shop (#c130942, #w130939) and Petite Petals (#c133155, #w133152. The butterfly is from Papillon Potpourri (#c123759, #w132058), stamped with Daffodil Delight ink (#126944) on Daffodil Delight card (#121680). The inks used for the flowers are Strawberry Slush (#131178), Coastal Cabana (#131175) and Crushed Curry (#131173). The flower punches are Fun Flower (#133785), Pansy Punch (#130698) and Petite Petals (#133322). The Elegant Butterfly (#127526) punched the butterfly. The oval from Strawberry Slush card is cut with the Ovals Collection Framelits (#129381) and the circle from the Coastal Cabana card is cut using the Circles Collection (#130911). Happy Birthday is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set (#c126257, #w132022) and the coordinating Bitty Banners Framelits (#129267). Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247) were added to the flower and butterfly. Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430) were used for the flowers, butterfly and sentiment.

I am writing this at the hospital as I am waiting for my Carpal Tunnel op. Hopefully not too much more waiting.

Back again soon,
Lesley.

Kinda Eclectic

Hello,

I often choose colours for a card by consulting the Colour Coach (#130118) and this is how I chose these colours.

The card colours are Rich Razzleberry (#119981), Pink Pirouette (#116203), Lost Lagoon (#133686) and Whisper White (#106549). The rectangular piece of Pink Pirouette was embossed with the Decorative Dots folder (#133520). I then heat embossed with Versamark (#102283) and White Embossing powder (#109132) on another piece of Pink Pirouette using the Kinda Eclectic stamp set (#c135350, #w135347), then cut it with a Framelit from the Circles Collection (#130911). A piece of Rich Razzleberry was also cut with the next size Framelit. The butterfly from Kinda Eclectic and the sentiment from Tag Talk (#c134252, #w134249) were both stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink (#126950) on Whisper White card. The punches used are the Elegant Butterfly (#127526) and Label Bracket (#132153). I stamped on the Lost Lagoon card using Versamark. The smallest of the Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247) were added to the butterfly.

I have a busy day today, so till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊
Lesley.

Embellished Events

Welcome again,

An easy way to colour your stamps when you want different colours on the same image is to use Stampin' Write Markers, which I have done for the flowers and leaves here.

I used a Calypso Coral marker from the Subtles collection (#131263) and Old Olive (#100079) from the brights collection. Some markers can be purchased individually and others in collections. To use the markers, use the thicker brushed tip and colour the area as required. When the whole image is coloured with the various colours, just breath onto the stamp (as the areas first coloured may be starting to dry and this reactivates it), then stamp the image onto the card. So simple. I then cut this Whisper White card (#106549) with an Oval Framelit (#129381) and sponged the edge with Coral Calypso ink (#126983). The Calypso Coral base card (#124392) was stamped with the flourish from Everything Eleanor (#c124164, #w131987) using Versamark (#102283). The DSP is from Gold Soiree (#133697). The Scallop Edge Border punch (#119882) was used on the Basic Black card (#121688). The sentiment is from Kinda Eclectic stamp set (#c135350, #w135347) and I used Calypso Coral ink for this.

That's all today, so till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊
Lesley.

Gift Box Punch Board

Hi,

Have you ever been looking for the perfect box for a special gift and just can't find what you want? Well here is the answer - the Gift Box Punch Board (#135863) where you can make up to 15 different size boxes in just minutes. It is so quick and easy.

The directions are printed on the board and very easy to follow. The brown box is made from Under The Tree Specialty DSP (#135825), and the Black and White is from Back To Black DSP a (#133700). I used Shimmery White card (#121717) for the 3rd box. I stamped on this with the Bright And Beautiful stamp set (#c135029, #w135026) using Daffodil Delight (#126944) and Crushed Curry ink (#131173). To finish these boxes I made a bow using the Gift Bow Bigz L die (#129977) for the brown box. This was cut from Crumb Cake card (#121685). I also embossed this with the Decorative Dots folder (#133520). The Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding (#120992) was used for the Black & White box. Stars were cut using the Stars Framelits (#133723) for the smaller box and Crushed Curry card was used (#131288) for the unstamped star.

Have a great weekend,
Till next time.
😊Happy Stamping😊
Lesley.

All is Calm DSP with Bright and Beautiful

Hello,

I tend to be very traditional when it comes to Christmas and what colours I use (usually red, green and gold) but today decided to use the All Is Calm Specialty DSP (#135823) which includes Lost Lagoon and Soft Sky colours.

The larger star and sentiment from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set (#c135029, #w135026) have been stamped with Versamark (#102283) and the Iridescent Ice embossing powder (#101930) on Lost Lagoon card (#133686). This gives a nice bit of glitter to the image which doesn't show very well on the first photo but a bit better on the close up. The Framelits to cut these are the Stars (#133723) and Ovals Collection (#129381). The smaller star was embossed with White embossing powder (#109132) on Soft Sky card (#131292). A Rhinestone Basic Jewel (#119246) adds a bit more glitter to the card. Lost Lagoon ink (#133644) was used to sponge around the sentiment and of course as usual I used Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430) to add the stars and sentiment to the card. The base card is Whisper White (#106549).

Thanks for visiting,
Till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊

Gold Soirée

Hi and Welcome,

The Striped Scallop Thinlit (#133734) and the Gold Soirée DSP (#133697) have been used for the background for this easy card.

A great tip for using this Thinlit or any that have fine detail, is to place a piece of waxed paper between the card and Thinlit before cutting. This makes it so much easier to remove the card from the Thinlit. The ribbon is the 5/8" Organza Ribbon (#114319). Thinking of you is from Sassy Salutations stamp set (#c126707, #w132070) and stamped and sponged with Calypso Coral ink (#126983). The Framelits I used are from Chalk Talk (#129983). The base card is Whisper White (#106549), Garden Green (#108605) has been used under the sentiment and Calypso Coral (#124392) was used for the Striped Scallops.

Well that's all today. I will be back home tonight with a busy few days ahead before having a carpal tunnel op next week. Hope it doesn't slow me down too much with my card making.

Till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊

Hearts Framelits

Hello,

There are very few cards I make that don't use either embossing folders or Framelits and this card uses both. Don't forget when using both on the same piece of card as I have on this one, cut the Framelit first. Embossing first then cutting the Framelits would ruin the embossing.

The base card is Real Red (#106578). After cutting the heart with one of the Hearts Collection Framelits (#125599), I embossed the card with the Filigree Frame folder (#135818). I then placed a piece of Whisper White card (#106549) on the inside using Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430). I had stamped on this in Real Red ink (#126949) with a sentiment from the Good Greetings set. This hostess set is available till 31st October - all you need to do is host a party and you will receive this free with total party orders over $300. Contact me for more information.
The silver heart is also cut with the hearts Framelits from Silver Glimmer paper (#135314). Happy Anniversary is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set (#c120024, #w130042) and the Modern Label punch (#119849) was used. I sponged the edges with Real Red ink.

It's Wednesday, so time for this weeks WEEKLY DEALS-

Beautiful Bunch birthday

Hello and welcome again,

I have done the "double layering" effect on this card. I often stamp on the 3 layers but decided just to stamp the sentiment on the 3rd layer today.

This is really easy to do and to have your images lined up. Firstly cut out all your card to the required sizes. I used Whisper White (#106549) and Bermuda Bay (#131286). Putting the pieces of White card into position without the coloured card, (best to use a temporary tape or glue for this so the card doesn't move), and stamp as required. I used Crumb Cake ink (#126975) with the Flowering Flourishes stamp set (#c126367, #w131998). Then I added the coloured card and taped these back into place. You will notice when you stamp your images on the White card there may be a small area that doesn't stamp around the edges, but the coloured card hides that once it is assembled.
Happy Birthday is stamped with Bermuda Bay ink (#131171) and I used the Sassy Salutations stamp set (#c126707, #w132070). The flower is from the Beautiful Bunch stamp set (#c134282, #w134279) and punched with the Fun Flower punch (#133785). I used one of the Antique Brads (#117273) for the flower, and as usual, used Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430) to attach the flower to the card.

Thanks for visiting and hope you will check in again soon.

Till then,
😊Happy Stamping😊

Flower Patch

Hello Ladies,

Today is another easy card, using some leftovers again.

Because the flower was already stamped with Elegant Eggplant ink (#126969), I chose Elegant Eggplant (#108614) for the base card. Whisper White (#106549) was used for the background and this was stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (#c130517, #w130514) using Wisteria Wonder (#126985) and Pink Pirouette inks (#126956). Thinking of you is from Sassy Salutations (#c126707, #w132070) and then cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits. The card for this is Wisteria Wonder (#124389). The flower is from the Flower Patch Phoyopolymer stamp set (#134207). The leaves are punched with the Bird Builder punch (#117191) using Pink Pirouette card (#116203). The flower was attached with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430).

That's all today. I have spent a lovely day looking after my granddaughter. She is only 2 but loves to do crafty things so we had fun doing that today as well as lots of fun at the park.

Till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊
Lesley.

Traveler

Hi,

Thought it was time to make a masculine card, so I have used the Camera from the Traveler stamp set (#c134513, #w134510).

The Cardstock used is Island Indigo (#124390), Cherry Cobbler (#121681) and Whisper White (#106549). I stamped on the Whisper White card using the Hardwood background Stamp (#c133035, #w133032) with Crumb Cake ink (#126975). The camera is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (#132708) and the Happy Birthday is stamped with Versamark (#102283 and Cherry Cobbler embossing powder (#122949) and heat set. The Framelits used for the camera are from the Chalk Talk set (#129983). I punched with the Chevron Border (#132154) down the side of the card. Cherry Cobbler ink (#126966) was used to sponge the edges of the Whisper White card.

I arrived in Melbourne to a lovely warm sunny day and enjoyed the afternoon with my Granddaughter and family. We will have a lovely few days together.

Till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊

Petite Petals with Lovely Lace

Hello,

The title says it all - Petite Petals and Lovely Lace is what I have used for this pretty card.

The Lovely Lace embossing folder (#133737) was used for the background. I sponged the edges with Melon Mambo ink (#126948) before attaching to the Whisper White base card (#106549). It's not often that I only use the one colour card and ink but I like the look with just a hint of colour. The flowers are from The Petite Petals (#c133155, #w133152) and punched with the Petite Petals punch (#133322). I used Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430) to add these to the circle cut with a Framelit from the Circles Collection (#130911). The smallest of the Pearl Basic Jewels were added to the flowers. Happy Birthday is from the Bloom with Hope stamp set (#c133952, #w133949) and I used the Bitty Banners Framelits to cut the sentiment.

I'm off to Melbourne tomorrow to look after my little granddaughter for a few days. I'm really looking forward to that. Hoping for some nice weather while there too. I have cards ready to share with you while I'm away.

So till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊

With Sympathy

Hello Stampers,

I can see that I will use this Filigree Frame Embossing Folder (#135818) as a border for a variety of cards. Here's a quick and easy card for today.

The Whisper White card (#106549) and Gold Embossing powder (#109129) gives an elegant look to this card. I used the Apothecary Arts stamp set (#c125527, #w128415), then cut it with the coordinating Labels Collection Framelits (#125598). With Sympathy from the Bloom with Hope stamp set (#c133952,#w133949) was also stamped with the gold embossing powder and was cut with a Framelit from the Bitty Banners (#129267). The Bitty Butterfly punch (#129406) was used to punch the butterfly from the Gold Glimmer paper (#133719). Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430) have been used to attach the images to the card.

Well, the weekend is here once again, so I hope you have a great one.

Till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊

Bright and Beautiful

Hi again,

When I first saw these stars in the Holiday catalogue I knew I just had to have them. They are from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set (#c135029, #w135026).

I heat embossed the stars and the sentiment using Versamark (#102283) and Crushed Curry embossing powder (#133753), and then the stars were cut with the Stars Framelits (#133723). The cardstock for the stars are Very Vanilla (#1066550) and Crushed Curry (#131288). I sponged the edges with Crushed Curry ink (#131173). The Very Vanilla base card was embossed with the Filigree Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#135818) also from the holiday catalogue. The ribbon is Crushed Curry 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. The Framelit used for the sentiment is from the Apothecary Accents (#127003).

Till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊

Scrapbook page with Striped Scallop Thinlits

Hello all,

As I mentioned yesterday, I would show you a scrapbook page I designed using the Striped Scallop Thinlits (#133743).

I used the So Saffron from the Subtles Colour Collection DSP, for the base page. The other cardstock is So Saffron, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss. The Striped Scallop Thinlits cut the Gold Foil Sheets and these were glued to the Blackberry Bliss card. I stamped the flourish from Everything Eleanor using Wisteria Wonder stamp. I then added a flower punched with the Petite Petals and the centre was from the Owl Builder punch - the eyes were just the perfect size. The butterflies are punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch. I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch as well.

Sorry I don't have all the item codes as I'm not at home today and didn't bring the catalogue with me (I usually always have a catalogue with me wherever I go).

Striped Scallop Thinlits

Hello ladies,

Yesterday I received the Striped Scallop Thinlits die (#133734) and I just love it already. I had to play with it as soon as I got it out of the box.

I used the Back To Black DSP (#133700) which I thought looked interesting once cut with the Framelit. The design I used was the one with leaves (or feathers). I then glued it to a piece of Basic Black card (#121688). The base card is Real Red (#106578) with Silver 1/8" Ribbon (#132137) attached along the bottom edge. The flowers stamped with Real Red ink (#126949) are from the Flower Shop stamp set (#c140942, #w130939), and punched with the coordinating Pansy punch (#130698). Petite Petals punch (#133322) was used to punch the flowers from the Silver Glimmer paper (#135314). These flowers were put together with a brad that I have just realised is now retired. Happy Birthday is from the Itty Bitty Banners (#c126257, #w132022) and the Bitty Banners Framelits cut this. I punched with the Decorative Label and cut it to make it smaller and attached the sentiment to this. The sentiment and flowers were attached to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430).

I have also designed a scrapbook page using this Framelit so will show you that soon.

That's all for today,

😊Happy Stamping😊
Lesley.

Red Glimmer paper

Hello and welcome again,

A simple card can be made special just by adding some glitter which I have done for this card. I used the Red Glimmer Paper (#121790) for the background. However I do have a bit of trouble getting a good photo of it.

The base card is Whisper White (#106549), then I added Brushed Gold card (#124917) before attaching the glimmer paper. I stamped the flower from Bloom with Hope (#c133952, #w133949) using Versamark and Gold Embossing powder and this was heat set. I used one of the Framelits from the Labels Collection (#125598) to cut this. Best Wishes is from the Petite Pairs stamp set (#c122497, #w128706) and was also heat embossed with gold. The small heart from Hearts a Flutter Framelits (#130159) cut the sentiment. The hearts along the bottom of the card are punched with the Hearts Border (#133784) and I glued one of the hearts from this under the sentiment. I sponged the edges with Real Red Ink (#126949) and attached the flower and sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430).

Well I hope all the Dads have had a great day for Father's Day.

That's all for today,
Till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊
Lesley.

Gorgeous Grunge and Beautiful Bunch

Hi,

The Calypso Coral embossing powder (#133752) with Versamark (#102283) has been used for the flower, sentiment and background on this card which gives a raised, glossy image.

Very Vanilla (#106550) and Crisp Cantaloupe (#131303) are the Cardstock. The leaves from Kinda Eclectic stamp set (#c135350) are stamped with Pear Pizzaz ink (#131180). I stamped 2 leaves straight onto the card and the 3rd one onto another piece of card and cut it by hand, then glued it on top of the embossed area. The background was created with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (#c130517, #w130514), and Happy Birthday is from Bloom with Hope (#c133952, #w133949) - one of the Hostess sets. The flower was stamped from the Beautiful Bunch set (#c134282, #w134279) and punched with the Fun Flower (#133785). A Pearl Basic Jewel (#119247) was added to the centre of the flower, and I used Stampin' Dimensionals for the flower.

Till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊
Lesley.

Petite Petals and Flower shop

Hello,

I have a box filled with bits and pieces left over from various projects, so today I had a look through to find what I could use for a card and this is the results. It was great that all the colours worked well together.

The only thing I needed extra was the Whisper White base card (#106549), the Tangelo Twist card (#133684) and the Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#119246). I coloured these rhinestones with the dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blendabilities Markers (#130998). The butterfly from Papillon Potpourri stamp set (#c123759, #w132058) was stamped with Crushed Curry ink (#131173) and punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch (#129406). The larger flower is from Flower Shop stamp set (#c130942, #w130939) using Island Indigo ink (#126986). The smaller flower from Petite Petals (#c133155, #133152) is stamped with Tangelo Twist (#133646) and punched with the Petite Petals punch (#133322). The leaves are punched with the Bird Builder punch (#117191) from Old Olive card (#106576). Happy Birthday from the Sassy Salutations set uses Tangelo Twist ink. The small piece of Whisper white was embossed with the Honeycomb folder (#129378). Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430) of course were used for the flower and butterfly.

I have had a very busy week, so hopefully the weekend will be a bit quieter.

Till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊
Lesley.

Flower Patch with Flower Flair Framelits

Welcome,

Spring is here, so I have made this lovely bright card using Flower Patch stamp set (#134207). These are the photopolymer stamps which make it very easy to do Two-step stamping as you can see through the stamps and see exactly where you are stamping the image.

I used Whisper White (#106549) for the base card, with Tempting Turquoise (#126952) and the Daffodil Delight from the Brights Colour Collection DSP (#130134). The inks for the flowers are Strawberry Slush (#131178), Soft Sky (#131181), Tempting Turquoise (#126952) and Daffodil Delight (#126944). The leaves were stamped with Old Olive ink (#126953) onto Old Olive card (#106576). All of these flowers and leaves were cut using the Flower Flair Framelits (#133731). Happy Birthday is from the Tag Talk stamp set (#c134252, #w134249) and the Label Bracket punch (#132153) coordinates with this stamp set. Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430) have been used to add dimension to the card when attaching the flowers and sentiment. Pearl Basic
Jewels were added to the flowers (#119247).

This stamp set and Framelits are also available in a bundle (#136788) so you will save 15% by purchasing them together.

Traveler

Hi again,

With Fathers Day next Sunday, I decided on this card for this weeks card class. Of course it could be used for a birthday as well.

I chose Whisper White card (#106549), Basic Black (#121688) and Bermuda Bay (#131286) with Back To Black DSP (#133700). I embossed the Bermuda Bay card with the Argyle embossing folder (#127750). The Traveler stamp set (#c134513, #w134510) is where you will find this train as well as other great traveler images. It was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (#132708). Thankful for You is from the Good Greetings stamp set (#135017) using Bermuda Bay ink (#131171). More info about this stamp set below. The sentiment was then punched with the Modern Label (#119849).

This Good Greetings Stamp Set is absolutely FREE when you reach $300 when hosting a party! That's right, this brand-new stamp set is in addition to all the other exciting and generous benefits you get when you host a party from 28 August to 31 October.
