Sketched Birthday

Hi

I have used the Sketched Birthday stamp set for this card today.

The card colours are Raspberry Ripple and Whisper White, the ink used is also Raspberry Ripple with the 2 outside balloons stamped with Primrose Petals. For the candle I used Primrose Petals marker and Daffodil Delight for the flame. I embossed on the side of the Whisper White card using one of the Needlepoint Border folders. Whisper White Stitched Grosgrain ribbon is attached to the right side of the card.
All the images are from the Sketched Birthday stamp set. Celebrate is cut with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Behind the sentiment is a piece punched using the Petite Curley Label. The cake is cut using the Oval Collection Framelits. Both the cake and sentiment are mounted on the card with Dimensionals.

Build a Blossom card

Hello

I have used the Build a Blossom stamp set and punch for the flower on this card.

I punched the larger petals from the Brights DSP stack. The smaller petals were stamped with Daffodil Delight on Whisper White before punching out the petal. After glueing the petals in place I added a Bitty Button to the centre, on top of a small circle punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, using crystal effects to glue it. The leaves were stamped on Gumball Green card with the same colour ink.
The Whisper White background was stamped with Flowering Flourishes using Crumb Cake ink, then embossed with Perfect Polka Dots folder. I used the Scallop Trim Border to punch the Gumball Green on the left side. "Thanks" is from the Fabulous Phrases set, and the punches used are the Word Window and Modern Label. Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain was the ribbon used.

Harvest Blessings

Hi to everyone

Using the old tractor from Harvest Blessings, I embossed with Black embossing powder and versa mark for today's card on Naturals White.

After heat setting the embossing powder I inked up the D size acrylic block with Real Red ink and lightly stamped over the image for the background. (This could have been done first). This piece was then attached to Basic Black and Real Red card using the Vintage Trickets Brads. I then wrapped some bakers twine around the brads and tied a bow to secure it.
Happy Birthday is from the Label Love stamp set and co- ordinating Artisan Label to punch it. The black tags are cut using the Hearts a flutter Framelits.

Dinoroar

Another very quick card today, this time for a boy's birthday - they all seem to like dinosaurs!

Using Naturals White for the base card, I embossed with the Woodgrain folder. Then I stamped the dinosaurs using Baked Brown Sugar ink on a piece of rectangular card. I then cut the piece on an angle, sponged the edges and mounted it onto a piece of Gumball Green using dimensionals. The ribbon is Stitched Satin. For the sentiment I stamped a background using the image with the horizontal lines from Gorgeous Grunge. I used the stamping off method for a subtle look. Then I stamped the Happy Birthday from Bring on the cake with Gumball Green ink. The little brads are from the Vintage Trickets.

Embossing folders and Papillon Potpourri

Hello

I just love all the new colours from Stampin' Up! and today I have used Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana together for this easy card, and don't they look beautiful together with some Whisper White added.

The base card is Coastal Cabana, with the punched Dotted Scallop Ribbon from Bermuda Bay card. The butterflies and Happy Birthday were stamped with Bermuda Bay ink on Whisper White card, then embossed with clear powder. As the new ink pads stay wet for a bit longer, you can easily emboss without the need for versamark.
I used the Honeycomb folder on the base card and Delicate Designs to emboss the Whisper White. I added pearls to the Butterflies and the sentiment. As I said, its very easy.

The Open Sea masculine card

Hi again
I have used Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Naturals Ivory for this card with the Open Seas stamp set.

The base card was stamped using Cajun Craze ink on the same colour card, using images from The Open Sea. I wrapped around some early Espresso Bakers Twine, then added the sentiment from Elements of Style and punched with 1-3/8" circle. The anchor was stamped with Early Espresso and hand cut and attached with Dimensionals.

Create a Cupcake

Hi

I have used Create A Cupcake and Sketched Birthday stamp sets on this invitation.

The base card is Very Vanilla and I embossed down the right hand side with the Needlepoint Border folder. Midnight Muse was also embossed, using the Chevron Folder. Gumball Green ink was used for the bottom of the cupcake and the top was punched using the Silver Glimmer Paper. The Cupcake builder was used to punch these.
The sentiment from the Sketched Birthday set uses Gumball Green ink. "Invited" was inked with the Midnight Muse marker and attached with Dimensionals. The Framelits used are Apothercary Accents, which were used for the sentiment, Midnight Muse card to outline the sentiment, and Gumball Green on the ends of the DSP. The DSP is the Print Poetry Stack.

Apothecary Accents Framelits

Hello

I love this new Bermuda Bay colour and looks great with basic Black.

Unfortunately the colour hasn't shown up as well in this photo. The base card was embossed with the Honeycomb folder. The Framelits used are Apothecary Accents for the Basic Black, and the Ovals Collection for the Bermuda Bay and the Vellum with the lion. I embossed the lion from Zoo review with Black powder and coloured on the back using Crushed Curry, More Mustard and Gumball Green inks with a blender pen. I backed the vellum with a piece of Whisper White and attached it with the Mini Brads. This was then attached to the Bermuda Bay with Dimensionals. I pierced around the Black card using the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack.
Whisper White backed the Washi Tape along the bottom of the card. The Happy Birthday is from Label Love Stamp set and punched with the Artisan Label. I also embossed the sentiment with Black embossing powder.

French Foliage

Hi Stampers

This is the card I made for my card class today and everyone enjoyed making it. It was inspired by a swap I got from convention, but unfortunately have not got the info who made it and I have changed it to my requirements.

The following photos are as it is opened

The Whisper White card (13.5cm x 20cm) has been cut along the bottom with the Adorning Accents Egdelits, then embossed with the matching Adorning Accents Folder. I then stamped using French Foliage stamp set and Daffodil Delight ink. I also stamped inside the card with one of the leaves. The triangular pieces are made using a piece of Polka Dot DSP cut at 10cm x 7 cm. I scored at 2cm on the narrow edge. I then folded to the scored line as shown below and taped to secure them.

The 2cm piece was then taped to the back of the white card. This was then attached to a piece of Daffodil Delight 14cm x 10.5cm.
I cut another piece of Daffodil Delight using the Labels Collection Framelits and embossed with the Polka Dots folder. Using the Floral Frames Framelits I cut a piece of Champagne Glitter Paper and attached this with Dimensionals. Happy Birthday uses the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and Bitty Banners Framelits.
The Hung Up Cute Clips hold the the card closed.

Papillon Potpourri

Hello again

The base colour for this card is the new Smokey Slate, and teams beautifully with the Real Red, Whisper White and a touch of Basic Black.

I embossed the Real Red with the Manhattan Flower folder. The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and punched with the co-ordinating punch - Elegant Butterfly. Polka Dots Parade is the DSP, and the black border is punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border. I used a stamp from the Hello, Lovely set for the border around the sentiment. This stamp co-ordinates with the Decorative Label punch. I used a Real Red marker to ink the stamp as I only wanted to stamp the border and then added Celebrate from the Fabulous Phrases set, stamped with Basic Back ink. The ribbon is stitched Grosgrain in Real Red.

Simply Pressed Clay and Molds

Hello

I love this clay that can be used to make embellishments for cards and scrapbooking. I used the Blossoms mould for this card.

For the larger flower at the bottom of the card, I mixed a drop of Calypso Coral re-inker and mixed till the colour was completely mixed in. I then pressed it into the mould. The top 3 flowers were made just with the white clay, then sponged on some Calypso Coral to the dried flowers. This just gives highlights to the petals which I like. Another way is to add the re-inker and only mix in so it gives a variegated look. This is how the flower is done just above the sentiment. These are so easy to make and very quick. Just push the clay into the mould, then push them out - you don't have to wait till they dry - so you can make a lot in a short time. I used Crystal Effects to attach them to the card.

The colours used on the card are Gumball Green, Early Espresso and Whisper White. The stamp sets used are Flowering Flourishes and Label Love. The punches are Decorative Label and Artisan Label. I embossed the Whisper White with the Honeycomb folder after stamping.

Gorgeous Grunge

Hi Stampers

Gorgeous Grunge was one of the stamp sets we were lucky to receive at Convention so am using it on the background of today's card.

Using Crumb Cake and Early Espresso inks I stamped the splotches on a piece of Naturals Ivory. Then I stamped using Early Espresso on a smaller piece to give the lines. I sponged the edges with Early Espresso then distressed using the distressing tool. Both these were mounted onto a piece of Old Olive which was mounted onto the base card of Naturals Ivory. The old truck from Countryside stamp set was stamped with versa mark and Early Espresso ink, using Clear Embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool. This was mounted onto Old Olive card and both cut with the Ovals Collection Framelits. I decided to cut the left side of the ovals off - just for something different.
Just for You is from the stamp set Label Love and punched with the coordinating Artisan Label punch. I also punched a second one from Early Espresso, cut in half and taped to the back. This was then attached with Dimensionals.
I think this Gorgeous Grunge set will get lots of use.

Thought for the day -

It's the end of the week. Hope you have a great weekend. It's our Grandson's 1st birthday so am off to make a card for him.

Easy Events

Hi

This is the 2nd card we made at yesterday's class.

The Old Olive card was wrapped around and attached to the front and back to form the spine. The front card is Midnight Muse and the back is Shimmer White.
Illuminate ink was used to stamp the hearts from Hearts a Flutter stamp set, onto the Midnight Muse card. The DSP is from Polka Dot Parade. Easy Events is the Stamp set used for the clock and sentiment. Not Quite Navy Taffeta ribbon and Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon are wrapped around the Shimmery White and DSP. Attached to the ribbon is a heart punched with the Small Heart punch and attached with Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.

Faux Patina card

Hello to all

Today I went to a card class at my friend Susan's,( check out Susan's Saga) this was one of the beautiful cards we made using the Faux Patina technique.

To do this technique, we embossed crumb cake for the background. Then a smaller piece was embossed, but to do this, Crumb Cake ink was rubbed over the embossing folder. Make sure to ink the inside of the front of the embossing folder as this gives to colour to the de-embossed areas. Then we used Midnight Muse and sponged over the embossed area. Next we sponged Always Artichoke followed by Early Espresso ink. Next we used the embossing buddy and dabbed over the inked card. This was followed by randomly adding versa mark over the embossed area. Gold embossing powder was added, then heat set to give a beautiful patina look.
Always Artichoke was used with the Crumb Cake card.

Thought of the day -

Must go as I have lots of cards to make, so till next time,
😊Happy Stamping😊

Gatefold card

Hi again

Today's card is a gatefold card which is very easy to make.

Using the normal size card (A4 cut in half), score from both ends at 52mm and fold into centre. I used Real Red with Marina Mist from the Polka Dot Parade DSP on Whisper White base card. The Ovals Collection Framelits cut the ovals for the front and these were attached on the left side using Dimensionals. The bird is stamped from Language of Friendship and punched with the Bird Builder.
"For You" is from the Elements of Style set and punched with the Postage Stamp punch then mounted on a slightly larger piece of Real Red. A piece of Real Red stitched Grosgrain Ribbon was taped at the back of the card, and long enough to tie a bow at the front to hold the card closed. The sentiment and bird were both attached using Dimensionals.

Inside the card I taped another piece of the DSP to the centre panel.

Zoo Review

Hello and welcome

On today's card I decided to add some zebra stripes to emphasize the zebra I was using from the Zoo Review stamp set.

For the stripes I tore thin strips of Basic Black card and glued them onto a piece of Whisper White. I embossed this piece with the Square Lattice folder. I then mounted it onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler. The So Saffron base card was embossed with the Woodgrain folder.
The zebra was embossed using versa mark and black embossing powder and heat set. I decided to just add some Cherry Cobbler to the corners for something different. The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set and punched with the Modern Label. Both the zebra and sentiment were mounted using Dimensionals.

Elements of Style

Hello

I used the Elements of Style stamp set for this card, stamping on vellum with versamark with white embossing powder and coloring with Stampin' Markers.
Don't these colours - Primrose Petals and Gumball Green - look great together.

Once the embossing powder is set, turn the vellum to the back and colour using Stampin' Markers. I used Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple for the flowers and Gumball Green for the leaves. A lighter coloured card behind the vellum highlights the colours much better than darker colours. I used Very Vanilla, then attached this to Gumball Green using the cute mini brads. Using Stampin' Dimensionals this was placed on top of the Very Vanilla card that was also stamped with the flowers from the Elements of Style stamp set using Crumb Cake ink for a subtle background.
A piece of Gumball Green card was punched with the Scallop Trim Border, Stitched Satin Ribbon taped to it and the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Banners and co-ordinating Framelits was attached with Dimensionals.

The Open Sea

Hi

The Open Sea stamp set is one I have had on my wish list for a long time and I finally ordered it. It arrived today with my pre-order from the new catalogue - so excited to get some new products and looking forward to creating some great cards with them.

I embossed the ship and anchor with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. I used the Ovals Collection Framelits to cut the Whisper White and Midnight Muse cards. After cutting out the anchor I wrapped some Cherry Cobbler bakers twine around the it and mounted it on the card with dimensionals. I also wrapped the bakers twine around the White card which I had stamped using other images from the Open Seas stamp set, using Cherry Cobbler and Midnight Muse inks. I added an Antique brad to gather the twine together. The Happy Birthday is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set and the punches used are Word Window and Modern Label.

Swallowtail and Fancy Fan folder

Hello

I'm so pleased that this beautiful butterfly will be carried over in the new catalogue ( currently in the seasonal catalogue).

I stamped the Swallowtail stamp with Cherry Cobbler ink, then sprayed with Frost White Shimmer paint( diluted with rubbing alcohol) for a lovely shimmer. I added Crystal Effects to the body of the butterfly. For the background I embossed the Whisper White with the Fancy Fan Folder. I then inked the brayer with Cherry Cobbler and rolled it over the embossed card to highlight the embossing. The butterfly was attached with Stampin' Dimensionals and trimmed to the edge of the card. The Happy Birthday uses the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp set and coordinating Framelits.

Delicate Doilies

Hello

Pool Party is the colour used on today's card with the Delicate Doilies stamp set.

I stamped with Versamark and added White embossing powder which was the heat set. This was done on Whisper White Card. Then using a dauber, I coloured the doilies, adding more colour on the outer edges. I rubbed with a tissue to remove any colour from the embossing. This card was then attached to Pool Party card, with Whisper White as the base. The ribbon is pool party from SAB so now retired. The stamp set for the sentiment is Petite Pairs and the framelits used are Apothercary Accents. Pearls were added to the sentiment.

French Foliage

Hello to everyone

French Foliage stamp set is ones of my favourite sets and I think looks great using the autumn tones.

Card used is Naturals Ivory for the base card as well as for stamping with the leaves from French Foliage set. Also Cajun Craze and Old Olive which both were embossed with the Woodgrain folder. For the leaves I used Cajun Craze, Old Olive, More Mustard and Soft Suede inks, then randomly added smaller amounts of colour with markers. The 3 leaves above the sentiment were cut by hand and sprayed with Frost White Shimmer Paint and attached with dimensionals. The Happy Birthday is from the Made for You stamp set and the tag from Hearts a Flutter Framelits. An Antique Brad is attached to the bottom left of the card.

Forever young

Hi

This is the same brayering technique as a few days ago, but also did it on the base card for this one.

As I used the Pumpkin Pie card as well as ink it is only subtle on the base card. I also stamped part of the tree image from Forever Young stamp set on the left side as well as the centre card after the brayering. The scallops are cut from Early Espresso using the Scallop Border punch. The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs and I used both the Postage Stamp and Scallop Square punches.
The Perfect Polka Dot folder was used the emboss the centre card. I like to add texture of some sort to most of my cards.
