Work of Art and Serene Silhouettes

Hello again,

You are probably thinking - this card looks familiar. Well yes, 2 days ago I used the same images and as I had so many say they liked this card and I liked it too, I decided to make another with this fancy fold card.

The Cardstock is Whisper White (#106549), Basic Black (#121688) and Everyday Chic DSP (#138445). The base card is cut at 22cm x 10.5cm and scored at 7.5cm. The black card inside measures 13.5 x 9.5cm. The other white card is 21cm x 8.5cm and scored at 12.5cm. The corners of this white card was punched with the Curvey Corner Trio Punch (#139683). The stamp sets are Work Of Art (#c134114, #w134111) and Serene Sihouettes (#c127324, #w132073). The inks used are Soft Sky (#131181), So Saffron (#126957), Pear Pizzaz (#131180) and VersaMark (#102283) with Black Embossing Powder which is heat set. For You is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and this was glued to the tags cut from the Tags and Labels Framelits (#138282). This tag was attached with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430). Only put the Dimensionals on the left side of the tag so you can tuck the flap under to secure it.

Serene Silhouettes

Hi and Welcome,

I was very pleased with the finished results of this card in Black and White with just a touch of colour.

I used Whisper White card (#106549) and Basic Black (#121688) with DSP from the Everday Chic Designer Series Paper (#138445). I cut 2cm from the front of the card and taped the DSP and Basic Black to the inside as shown.

Happy Birthday from Sassy Salutations stamp set (#c126707, #w132070) has been stamped with VersaMark (#102283) and Black Stampin' Emboss Powder (#109133) which was then heat set with the Heat Tool (#129056). I stamped the background images with the Work Of Art stamp set (#c134114, #w134111) using Soft Sky ink (#131181), So Saffron (#126957) and Pear Pizzaz (#131180). The birds in the tree from Serene Silhouettes stamp set (#c127324, #w132073) was also heat set with Black embossing powder and VersaMark.

Butterflies Thinlits

Hello,

This butterfly is cut using the Butterflies Thinlits (#137360).

The card for the butterfly is Melon Mambo (#119980). I stamped the image from Everything Eleanor (#c124164, #w131987) onto Whisper White card (#106548), using Melon Mambo ink (#126948) and using the stamping off method. This was then cut with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits (#130102) and taped to the Everyday Chic DSP (#138445). The butterfly was attached to this using Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430). I added some of the White Perfect Accents (#138416) to the centre of the butterfly. I taped the Melon Mambo 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon (#138431) to the DSP. Happy Birthday is from the Sassy Salutations stamp set (#c126707, #132070). This was stamped with VersaMark (#102283) and Black Embossing powder (#109133), then heat set with the Heat Tool (#129056).

Birthday Blossoms

Hello ladies,

A quick and easy card using Everyday Chic DSP (#138445) for the background.

The Cardstock is Whisper White (#106549) and Real Red (#106578). The flowers and sentiment from Birthday Blossoms stamp set (#c139471, #139167) are stamped with Real Red ink (#126949). The Pansy punch (#130698) is used for the flowers and the Ovals Collection Framelits was used to   cut the sentiment. I added White Perfect Accents (#138416) to the flowers. As I usually do, I attached the sentiment and one of the flowers with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430).

Birthday Blossoms

Hello again,

Here is one of the cards we made in this week's card class. Did you know you can stamp on the Glimmer paper? I stamped the flower on Glimmer paper. I find the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper works best due to the lighter colour.

The choice of colours were Pacific Point (#116202), Crushed Curry (#131288) and Melon Mambo (#119980) card. I heat embossed with VersaMark (#102283) and Silver Stampin' Emboss powder (#109131) on Whisper White card (#106549) with the flowers from Awesomely Artistic stamp set (#c139950, #w138694). The DSP is from Everyday Chic (#138445) and the ribbon is Silver 1/8" Ribbon (#132137). Happy Birthday from Birthday Blossoms stamp set (#c139471, #w139167) is stamped with Pacific Point (#126951), Crushed Curry (#131173) or Melon Mambo ink (#126948), then this was cut with a Framelit from the Project Life cards and Labels Framelits (#135707). I stamped on the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (#135315) with the flower from Birthday Blossoms stamp set, then punched this with the Pansy Punch (#130698). I then sponged the edges of the flower. I punched another little flower from a retired punch for the centre and added a 1/8" Mini brad (#122941). This flower was attached with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430), as was the sentiment.

Vintage Leaves

Hello Ladies,

I used the rock and roll method when I stamped the leaves from the Vintage Leaves stamp set (#p138802) and I love the finished results.

To do the rock and roll method, ink your stamp as usual.  I used Pear Pizzaz ink (#131180). Then with another ink - I used Pumpkin Pie (#126945) - roll the edge of the stamp on the ink pad so this ink is around the edges of the stamp. Stamp onto the card for this beautiful effect.  The leaves were cut with the Leaflets Framelits (#138283). The flower is from Crazy About You stamp set (#c138859, #w138856, #p137137) and stamped with Pumpkin Pie ink. This has a matching punch - the Flower Medallion (#137417) which I used.  I added some Pumpkin Pie Candy Dots from the Brights collection to the flower (#130931). The DSP is from the Everyday Chic (#138445). Happy Birthday from Happy Birthday Everyone stamp set (#c139958, #w139171) has been heat embossed with VersaMark (#102283) and Black Stampin' Emboss powder (#109133). The card stock is Whisper White (#106549). I used a Stampin' Dimensional (#104430) to attach the flower to the card, then was able to arrange the leaves around the flower and these were taped in place.

Today's tips:

1. When doing the rock and roll technique, always use the lightest colour first to avoid getting the darker ink on your light coloured ink pad. Also when doing multiple images, clean your stamp after stamping each image to avoid transferring colour to the ink pads.

2. Another tip for today is when stamping a solid image like the flower and using the photopolymer stamps, try stamping with a piercing mat under the piece of card. This sometimes gives a better finish if you aren't getting a nicely stamped image.

Awesomely Artistic

Hello Stampers,

I often use the stamping off method when stamping and by doing this you can double the ink colours that you have. The flowers and Friend on this card were stamped as normal. The butterfly and dragonflies (on the background) were done with the stamping off method.

The base card is Whisper White (#106549) and I have also used Watermelon Wonder (#138341) and Basic Black (#121688). The DSP is Everyday Chic (#138445). The ink is Watermelon Wonder (#138323). The flowers, dragonflies and sentiment are all from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set (#c139959, #w138694) and the butterfly is in the Kinda Eclectic stamp set (#c135350, #w135347). The Bitty Butterfly (#129406) was used to punch the butterfly and the Washi Tape punch (#138296) was used for the sentiment. The circles were cut with the Circles Collection Framelits (#130911). I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#119246) to the butterfly and sentiment. The bow is made from 1/8" Silver Ribbon (#132137) and attached with Glue Dots (#103683). I used Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430) for the circles, butterfly and sentiment.

Tip of the day: I am sure most know what the stamping off method is but in case you don't , this is what you do. Just ink your stamp as normal, then stamp onto scrap paper then stamp onto your card. This gives you a lighter image. You can also stamp the first image on your card, then stamp again on the card to get the 2 colours. The darker colours allow you to do even 3 or 4 images. Just play with your inks and stamps to see what effects you get.
