Bouncing brayer technique and Owl Builder punch

Hi

One of the demos at convention was using the brayer and this one is the "Bouncing Brayer" technique.

I used this for the centre piece of the card. It's so simple - just ink up your brayer and touch it on the card, lift, touch card again and continue along the card. As you lift, give a slight roll of the brayer so it turns the brayer around. I really like the effect and various designs can be achieved. I used Daffodil Delight ink on Very Vanilla card. I liked how it became lighter towards the top of the card. If you want the same colour all the way, just re- ink the brayer more often.
The base card in Daffodil Delight was embossed with the Woodgrain folder. The Basic Black was punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and attached to the piece of card which was brayered.
Other punches used are Owl builder, Bird Builder for branches, Decorative Label, Scallop Oval, Modern Label, and Word Window.
I wanted to use a black Glimmer brad but unfortunately had run out, so I rolled the silver brad in Jet Black StazOn ink.
The branches are cut from Early Espresso Coordination card and sanded with the Sanding block. It is easier to sand the piece of card first before punching as it will tear very easily once punched.
I also embossed the front of the owl using the hearts from the Adorning Accents folders.
The sentiment from Made for You was stamped with versamark and embossed with Basic Black embossing powder.

  1. That's a nice effect. I have made a fanned pattern with my bouncing brayer before too. That owl looks cute int he yellows and browns. And I must get that woodgrain embossing folder!!

    Have a good day, Lesley.
