Butterflies Thinlits Dies Sneak Peak

Hello,

As most people know I just love butterflies, so when I saw the beautiful Butterflies Thinlits Dies (#137360) in the new occasions catalogue which will be available from 6th January, I couldn't resist this set. There are 3 butterflies in the set with the butterfly on this card being the biggest - 11.1 x 8.9 cm.

A very simple card is all that is needed for this butterfly. I made the card 13x13cm so made an envelope to fit using the Envelope Punch board (#133774). The size I used for this from the punch board is for a 5" x 5" card using 8-1/8" square Whisper White cardstock (# 106549). This was the perfect fit for the card. I stamped butterflies from Kinda Eclectic (#c135350, #w135347) on the envelope, just inking the stamp once, but stamping 5 butterflies so each becomes lighter.
Now back to the card. I cut the butterfly from Red Glimmer Paper (#121790) which gives a lovely sparkle. I attached this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430). Before I attached the butterfly, I embossed the top piece of the Whisper White card with one of the Delicate Designs folders (#127023). This piece of card was attached to a piece of Gold Foil Sheet (#132622). The sentiments are from the Petite Pairs stamp set (#c122497, #w128706) using Real red ink (#126949. The dots were done with the Real Red Stampin' Write Marker (#100052).

Today's tip.
For the gold foil sheet I cut a piece to the required size (12x12cm). Then I cut a square out of the middle leaving about 2 cm on each side. This is a way of not wasting the more expensive papers when you only want a small amount showing. The piece removed from the middle can be used for another card.
